Michael brings extensive experience in leadership roles within the global chemical industry, covering operations, commerce, and technology. He began his career at Bayer, where he held several senior executive positions in Germany and China, including board member of Bayer AG, chairman and CEO of Bayer China, and CEO of China National Bluestar. He also served as CEO of Elkem ASA in Norway. Michael holds a master’s degree in chemical process engineering from the Technical University of Dortmund, Germany.
Michael has extensive experience in finance, business management, investor relations, and executive roles. He has worked in various finance positions at LANXESS, a leading specialty chemicals company in Germany. He led departments such as investor relations, corporate finance, and controlling, and served as CFO and board member before joining Nobian. Prior to LANXESS, Michael worked in investor relations at Airbus and MAN Group. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Philipps-Universität Marburg.
Philipp has extensive knowledge of the chemical industry and international business. He led mergers and acquisitions at Covestro and successfully managed various business units in Europe, North America, and Asia before joining Nobian. Philipp holds a degree in business administration.
Marco leads Nobian’s R&D and technology agenda and oversees sustainability efforts across the company. He has extensive knowledge in technology transformation, open innovation (collaborating with universities, startups, and consortia), circular economy, electrification, and Industry 4.0.
Marco has held senior management positions at Unilever and AkzoNobel. He was also Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Maritime Engineering, and Materials Science at Delft University of Technology. Marco is a board member of the VNCI (Dutch Chemical Industry Association) and chairs its technology and innovation policy committee. He is also chairman of the supervisory board of the ISPT (Institute for Sustainable Process Technology) and serves on various committees and advisory boards. He studied (bio)chemical engineering and information technology at the University of Amsterdam.
Lorette has extensive experience in strategic HR leadership within multinational organizations. She has led corporate and strategic HR roles at Royal DSM, working with regions like Europe, Asia, the USA, and India. Lorette has also held HR leadership positions at Amgen and GE Plastics. She holds a degree in quality management and has completed leadership and executive coaching programs at Amsterdam University, IMD in Switzerland, and London Business School.
Achim has extensive experience in manufacturing, HSE, and sustainability. He is known for improving operational performance and efficiency while integrating sustainability into business results. Throughout his career, Achim has held several senior management roles. At DSM, he was responsible for global operations of various business and production lines, health & safety, and responsible care. As Vice-President Sustainability, he led DSM’s corporate sustainability team, embedding sustainability into the company’s strategy and activities. Before DSM, Achim worked in R&D, operations, and product supply in Asia and Germany at SC Johnson and Bayer.
Dirk has extensive experience in corporate legal matters, litigation, government affairs, and strategy. He served as head of group legal and public affairs at Royal Ahold Delhaize, and before that, he was head of strategy. Dirk has also worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and as an attorney at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, a leading Dutch law firm with international offices. He holds law degrees from Utrecht University and Cambridge University, and completed a graduate program in international affairs at Johns Hopkins University, along with leadership courses at Harvard University.
