Rosalie Oosterhuis, the first female 1st operator at Nobian Delfzijl (Salt), shares her journey and growth in her role. Starting five years ago as a shy individual, she has since gained a wealth of knowledge and confidence, showcasing how Nobian empowers its people. Despite being an introvert, Rosalie enjoys great rapport with her colleagues and feels at ease in her workplace. She says: “I tend to be cautious at first, but I feel completely at home here. I absolutely love it.”

Challenge and variety
Rosalie’s journey with Nobian Delfzijl began through an internship during her studies at Noorderpoort College. She was curious about the role of an operator, inspired by her friends who were in the field. “A few of my friends were operators. That was unknown and somewhat incomprehensible to me. What exactly do you do as an operator? I wanted to know more about it, and through an open day, I ended up here for my final internship. I found it fascinating and never left,” she explains.
Rosalie thrives on the challenges of her work, embracing continuous improvement and innovation. She values the variety in her job and looks forward to future opportunities, such as a potential day shift position. She wholeheartedly encourages other young women to consider careers in chemistry or engineering, emphasizing that at Nobian, you can truly take ownership of your career.
