Our sustainability reporting

Our ESG program, ambitions, and our performance

Reporting on our performance

Our Sustainability report is an integral part of our reporting activities. Our approach and data are independently verified, and we report transparently on our progress. We set the bar high. That's why we participate in three internationally recognized standards, namely EcoVadis, the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), and the CDP - more information on each of which can be found below.

Sustainability reports

In our sustainability reports, we explain our ESG program and ambitions in more detail and report on our performance to date. We do this through concrete examples of our achievements and information on our activities and plans:

Our sustainability reports and ESG data are in accordance with the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and our ESG data and sustainability report are independently assured by DNV. In addition to these reporting standards and ratings, we have started a comprehensive project to implement the new EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). Nobian is required to comply with this directive from 1 January 2025.

Evidence-based reporting

Nobian is committed to continuously monitoring and managing both our own sustainability performance and that of our partners. We have participated in the EcoVadis rating process to ensure evidence-based reporting and to transparently drive decarbonization across our operations and value chain.

In addition, Nobian has approved near and long-term science-based emissions reduction targets through the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and has joined the CDP global disclosure system for environmental transparency and action.

Our Platinum-rated sustainability performance

Nobian has been awarded a Platinum rating by EcoVadis for our sustainability performance, for the third consecutive year. EcoVadis is the world’s most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings.

In 2024, Nobian scored 83 out of 100 points, maintaining our position in the top 1% of more than 90,000 companies rated by EcoVadis worldwide. You can read more about our sustainability initiatives and achievements in our sustainability cases studies.

Approved net-zero science-based targets

Nobian has approved near and long-term science-based emission reduction targets with the SBTi, the Science Based Targets initiative. The SBTi has verified Nobian’s science-based target of net zero by 2050. Nobian’s science-based targets are a key element of our decarbonization journey, while maximizing transparency and accountability. Together with our Platinum EcoVadis rating and our membership of the CDP, this achievement validates and demonstrates Nobian's progress towards decarbonization. It supports our mission to Grow Greener Together and realize our ambition to be one of the most sustainable chemical companies in Europe.

CDP, the global environmental disclosure system

Nobian has joined the CDP global disclosure system for environmental transparency and action. CDP operates the global environmental disclosure system. CDP helped us measure and manage our risks and opportunities related to climate change, water security and deforestation.

United Nations Global Compact

Nobian participates in the United Nations Global Compact - a voluntary initiative for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices. The UN Global Compact calls on businesses around the world to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative, with more than 20,000 companies based in over 160 countries, and more than 60 Global Compact Networks.
